The Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority (DECA)  recently came to meet Winning Pitch to share best practice around the North West Regional Development Agency High Growth Programme.  Representatives from 5 Danish Business Links from around the country and from central government came to see how Winning Pitch are delivering the programme, one of the biggest of its kind in Europe, before moving on to visit NESTA, BIS and the UK Business Link.

DECA, under the Ministry for Economic and Business Affairs is broadly responsible for enterprise and construction policy in Denmark.
Marlene Haaugard (pictured), Director of the Growth House, part of Denmark’s Business Link said:  “The Danish Government has set two ambitious goals for Denmark’s entrepreneurship: First, Denmark must continue to be a leading country in
Europe in terms of the number of newly started enterprises; and second, by
2015, Denmark must be a world-leading country in terms of the number of
high-growth start-ups.

“The aim of our visit to the UK was to investigate the various aspect and conditions for entrepreneurship and innovation in the UK in order to learn and find new inspiration. We were hence very eager to learn how The High Growth Programme works: including screening of enterprises, coaching skills and tools and techniques.”

Winning Pitch’s host, research director David Thomas said: “It was extremely flattering for DECA to come to visit us and we were delighted to be able to share our insights with them around how best to deliver a programme of this size. It was also exciting to hear from them the challenges their country faces, their belief that High Growth businesses are an essential part of that process and their plans to support them."

Winning Pitch hope to make a return visit to Copenhagen later in the year.
