Gazelle as Drivers for Job Creation & Innovation

The success of the North West High growth programme delivered by Winning Pitch, has recently attracted international attention. John Leach (CEO of Winning Pitch) has been invited to speak to an audience of 400 on the subject of "How to make a High Growth Programme Successful". The event is being held in Brussels and is hosted in conjunction with The European Commission, Enterprise & Industry and the Competitiveness & Innovation Framework Programme.
High-growth companies, so-called gazelles, are important for economic competitiveness and development, and are increasingly recognised by policy-makers. High-growth enterprises contribute more than the average to production growth and growth of employment. They are also relatively more innovative than average enterprises. Growing companies create additional growth of production in other enterprises, for instance through subcontracting relations. This raises the question of how to support the emergence of more high-growth companies in Europe and to capitalise on them for job creation and innovation.
This event organised by the Sectoral Innovation Watch (SIW) will present and further validate the main results from a study on "gazelles" and discuss possible policy recommendations. Furthermore, it will assess to which extent high-growth companies contribute to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe.
