Geoff Edge

Geoff Edge, BA, FRGS, Non-Executive Director

Geoff Edge is an experienced business leader who was, latterly, Chairman and Chief

Executive of West Midlands Enterprise, a venture capital and consultancy company he

established in 1982. The company had £90 million of funds under management, including

investments in high tech start-up companies. The consultancy business had an annual

turnover of £3 million.

Prior to this, Geoff was an Associate Director of W S Atkins plc (1997-1999) and a Senior

Associate of P-E International (1987-1997), both leading management consultancies

operating strategically in the Public Sector. He was actively involved with the Learning Skills

Council and Business Link.

From 1974 to 1979, Geoff was a Member of Parliament, serving as Parliamentary Private

Secretary in the Department of Education & Science and in the Privy Council Office. From

1981 to 1986 Geoff was Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, West Midland

County Council and, latterly, leader of Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, serving from

1988-1990
