A vital part of taking action in pursuit of your vision is recognising when to act and having the courage of your convictions. It’s one thing spotting an opportunity that could potentially accelerate you towards your goal, but it’s quite another to understand that you have accumulated the necessary tools to make the most of it and then to act quickly and decisively before it disappears.
It can be too easy to let opportunities pass you by. You may be too wrapped up in planning another activity to see the signs. Fear of the risks involved may cause you to hesitate too long, so that you miss the opportunity – or even more frustrating, someone snatches it from
under your nose. You may be worried about looking foolish in front of your friends, colleagues and peers should you go for it and fail.
The reality is, however, that you are likely gain respect for having a go, whether you win or not. Furthermore, the more practice you get at trying to grab opportunities when they arise, the greater your chances of success. So in many cases you will have to steel yourself, push
through your comfort zone and do the things that don’t come naturally in order to seize the moment.
There is a fine line between success and failure that can be as simple as taking action or not. So you must constantly remind yourself that if you want to achieve your goals it won’t happen if you don’t take advantage of the circumstances presented.
